What's crackin mackin!!  Fridays.  Aren't they great?!  Actually mine will be a little busy today, but once 4pm hits I'll be a happy camper.  So how is life?  What is going on with you lovely readers of mine?  Life for me has been pretty good lately.  PS: Did you check out the So Worth Loving brand yet?? I love them!

Work has been steady and busy - just enough balance of new things to keep me on my toes and engaged, and routine things to help give my mind a break when I need it.  Yesterday I attended one of our quarterly dietary meetings with our group purchaser and it was quite productive.

One of my bestest best cousins, Rachel, was in town (from Hilo, Hawaii) this past Saturday through Wednesday with her newborn, Tamar. We had a great time catching up and snuggling baby.  She and I have quite a unique relationship and it was non-stop laughs from the moment I picked her up from the airport until I dropped her off.  PS: I hadn't even thought about working on my weekly wishes until she left Wednesday night - so Thursday.  That might be a total fail bomb come Monday.  We shall see??!

I really need to get it together on the health kick though.  Maybe I picked up a couple of pounds from hanging out with my cousin or something - but it was not a good feeling to see a jump in a week's time.  I need to figure out a plan that works with my on-the-go life, because that is how I've been living right now. Any ideas would be absolutely lovely!  And I literally need to make this Stead Salad with Crispy Shallots, Dried Cherries, Pecans and Goat Cheese before I eat my laptop looking at this scrumptious meal.

If you feel the inkling to get to know me more, I posted my ABCs this past Wednesday - taking a fun twist on learning about me a little bit more.

This weekend I'm looking forward to tackling some organization in my room, getting a grip on my health and fitness goals and spending some quality time with my favorite guy, Kaimana.

So let me know what's been up with you all lately?? What's going on in your life? Anything we can encourage each other on?? Let me know! And have a fantabulous weekend!

PS: I may or may not be posting on Saturday and Sunday too - I missed a post that was supposed to be done this week, and January re-cap is here ALREADY!? #justsaying

PPS: Having coffee with Alissa at Rags to Stitches!  Join us.

  1. On the go is my hardest struggle too. I don't get a ton of time for lunch, so mixing and microwaving things is a huge pain. I just want to eat without any work!

  3. It sounds like you had a fun week!

One thing I did for a little while is mason jar salads. You basically put your veggies at the bottom of the jar, put a layer of seeds or nuts if you include those in your salad (I always put in some sunflower seeds) and then shove greens into the top and close the jar. The idea is that you're supposed to prepare these all on Sunday and then you have a week's worth of salads for lunch. The jar is supposed to keep the veggies fresh. I found that by Thursday the salads weren't as good but I didn't mind eating them, but by Friday I didn't want to eat them at all. So then I prepared three salads on Sunday and two salads on Wednesday and that worked better. You can also put dressing at the bottom of the jar, but I've heard that it almost starts to pickle the veggies and I'm not the biggest fan of pickled things, so I always carried a separate jar with dressing. It was a quick and easy way to carry a healthy lunch to work, but I eventually gave that up because I wanted to use up leftovers from dinner and during winter I sometimes want something warm for lunch.

But don't be too concerned! It's normal for weight to fluctuate. You've lost an amazing amount of weight so you're doing really, really well! :)
