DIY Sharpie Mug (The Creative Collective)

Sunday, April 6, 2014

Looking through my pins on pinterest I realized that there were a ton of pins that I've been meaning to do (and am fully capable of doing) but just haven't done it.  I'm so glad Melyssa made this prompt for the #CreativeCollective and it has definitely inspired me to start doing more of the things I find on pinterest.  I'm thinking that this will become a regular thing for me and will turn into a series, at least this is what I hope - especially with all of the DIY that I want to be doing to my room, anyhow!  Consider this post the first in a series of "Pinterest Diaries".

Check out my DIY BOARD here!

  1. Love the DIY mugs!! One of my very favorite mugs is actually a DIY sharpie mug that my BFF made for me. :)

  2. The gold marker that I used didn't come out the way I wanted. It wasn't a sharpie - so I have to try again! Lol. But it definitely is a quick and fun way to be creative :)

  6. Yes you should!! Just make sure to use a real sharpie. The gold is a different metallic permanent marker and it didn't come out as nice as the black sharpie. Hopefully when I pick up a gold sharpie it'll be better!

  8. Aw thanks love! You need to put it in the oven. Different people use different times. I let it dry for 48 hours before putting it in the oven at 350 for 45 minutes and haven't had a problem yet.
