Currently Loving // 003

Thursday, February 27, 2014

Oh my dashing readers!! I am so sorry I have been MIA this week.  I know that I gave you a heads up, but geez - so lame, right?!  Anyway - I know this lovely little Currently Loving post seems like a cop-out, but it was honestly scheduled for this week anyway!  Things work out that way for some odd reason, right? Haha... So lets get into it!

I am a total sucker for women empowerment, and shirts that make bold statements.  It is no surprise that I instantly fell in love with this little clothing line, S H E I S Clothing, on etsy.

Check out this super fun company that sells super cute moccasin type boots Gipsy Dharma.  I can't get over how adorable these Off White Croco Print Knee High Leather Boots are!  This month's sponsor, sells these beautiful babies, among other leather goodies for both men and women.  On top of that, they have giveaways every week for you to enter!! So enter now.  Oh and, if you are nervous about purchasing shoes online (since every company's sizing is different), Gipsy Dharma has a sizing guide to ensure that you'll pick the perfect fit!

This video from Mike Fisher, Carrie Underwood's hockey player husband, is so moving and inspiring.  Take a listen, it's worth it and hopefully it'll make you think about your life and priorities. It makes me think about mine.

LLLOOOOVVVEEEE!!! Lately I've been on an empowerment and encouragement kick and these are just the most P.E.R.F.E.C.T lil things ever from My Sister's Suitecase!! I mean, post it notes? Great idea, but really, options are endless with this printable!  They would print out nicely on cardstock with a little encouraging note on the back.  Or even possibly worked into a coaster DIY!

Lastly, I'll leave you with my newest pin on my WORDS pinspiration board...
go your own way.
xoxo, Aukele

Weekly Wishes // 006

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Aloha Kakahiaka! Today I'm back with my fifth installment of Weekly Wishes link up (2014) hosted by Melyssa from The Nectar Collective.  I love this link up because it helps you to focus on small goals that you can accomplish within a week to ensure you stay productive and don't procrastinate the small steps that take you to bigger leaps.  These goals can be as small as keeping the clothes off the floor and as big as launching a business.  It is really meant to meet you wherever you are in life and I hope you take some time to think about what you want to accomplish this week and let us all know so we can encourage each other.

LAST WEEK'S WISHES WERE:
1. Take care of online plans.  Didn’t happen.
2. Budget my paycheck.  I budgeted well.  However, I didn’t budget for needing a new tire.  I was able to afford it, but let’s just say – we’re pinching pennies til Friday, but we’re fine. NOTE: Start saving for an emergency auto fund!
3. Catch up my Chazown book reading.  Done and done.

THIS WEEK'S WISHES ARE:
Last week was a whirlwind as far as work goes.  We’ve been doing a lot of shifting of roles and what not to make the department run more efficiently.  These days work has been taking most of my energy – hence the late Weekly Wishes post. While I’d love to set some goals for my personal ventures and what not – my main focus right now is my J.O.B. and smoothing everything over.  I’m all about having an efficient work life and some of the new things I’ve taken on need to be streamlined.  So I have one goal this week and that is to get all of my ducks in a row, organize my work life and to have an action plan moving forward.  All the while still keeping up with the daily grind (keep the department functioning). Hopefully you’ll get three posts out of me this week on ‘le blog, but if not, you know why!!

As always, I like to leave you all with something for the week…  Since I’m sure I’ll need a good laugh every now and then, enjoy this makeup tutorial spoof from Meghan Tonjes.  Crystal from The Happy Type turned me on to her and she is a crack up!!!

xoxo, Aukele

Friday Morning Coffee // 003

Friday, February 21, 2014

Whats cookin' good lookin?? I hope all of my dashing readers are doing amazing today!  We're already have past February and this is my first Friday Morning Coffee post for the month.  February is just flying by and I can't believe next Saturday will already be March.

Life has been really good lately!! Since the last FMC post, another one of my cousins visited from Hilo, Hawaii.  She and her husband stopped by before going to California and on their way back before going to Hilo.  We got to spend some great quality time, that I truly cherished.  I love that my cousins are like the sisters that I never had, and no matter how much time has passed - we always pick back up right where we left off!

Work has been crazy busy!!  There have been some changes in staffing and people have been moving around and the workload has been - well - a load.  Nevertheless it needs to get done, and I always love a good challenge.  Right now, I'm in the process of planning out how to streamline different tasks so that other tasks can be given a higher priority.

Oh and HEY HEY HEY!!! If you follow me on twitter, you already know this - but I BROKE MY WEIGHT PLATEAU. Such. a. relief.  Man, it has been a long time coming but I'm so excited, and it's given me motivation "on steroids" to keep it up!!  What am I doing differently???  Trying out different breakfasts to keep me full, eating lighter dinners, consciously making an effort to make water a daily routine and walking hills with Kaimana (the 'ol doxbull).  This week I tried one new recipe - Peanut Butter Banana Chia Overnight Oats.  I'm not gonna lie, it knocked the Almond Joy Chia Overnight Oats OUT OF THE WATER.  There may be a bottle of that goodness waiting for me in the fridge - just possibly??

This weekend I have absolutely no plans. I intend on keeping it that way (with maybe the exception of seeing Robocop with a special friend or something)!  I'll be able to dive into my Skillshare class I'm doing and maybe actually get some stuff done for 91 Dash that I've been wanting to do.  I guess I'll hole myself up in Starbucks quite possibly!!

At any rate, I hope you all are having a FABULOUS Friday and please don't hesitate to drop me a line.  I love meeting new people and interacting with all of you!!!

PS: My current jam is My Kind of Love by Emile Sande.  My favorite line is, "But don't ever question if my heart beats only for you, it beats only for you."
My Kind of Love by Emeli Sande on Grooveshark

PS: Linking up with Whitney for #backthatazzup Fridays.

The Brave Dame: Hope to Hear the Melody and Faith to Dance to It

Thursday, February 20, 2014

Funny thing, I didn't quite plan to do another Brave Dame post so quickly.  However, with the comments from the last one, and my work schedule this week - it just is kinda happening. Last night, as I thought about what I wanted to speak on - putting yourself out there - came to mind.

Not in a dating sense, though if that is where you're at in life - then jump in.  More so, in a, "take life by the horns," type of way.

When I went through my break up this past October, life really had me down.  All the things that filled me with joy and happiness just seemed to not be enough.  I had let another human complete me, and when that portion of my life was taken away - I didn't know how I could ever move on.  All the things in life that made me happy seemed sub-par because this person wasn't there anymore.

Once I stopped thinking about him and HOPING he would realize, before it was too late, what he was missing out on (because by the way, I am a DARN GOOD CATCH!); and started focusing on me, I started to have goals for myself, aspirations, new dreams, expectations and ultimately HOPE for ME.

As soon as you have HOPE to get through whatever sticky situations life throws at you, you can start to develop your FAITH to actually see it come to pass.  You trust yourself enough to know that you can beat the situation and come out victorious in the end.  You believe that there are brighter and better days ahead.

When I found my HOPE, one of the things that I wanted to do for myself was get involved.  I wanted to do more.  I wanted to put myself out there.  I wanted to meet new people.  I wanted to learn new things.  If you know me personally, you would laugh at me when I tell you that I'm shy.  No one ever believes me, but 'tis true.  Get me in a crowd of people that I don't know, and you can be assured I will not be the once to break the ice.

A little over a month ago, I was presented an opportunity to join a book study at my church.  There were a ton of book studies to choose from that covered various topics from the Daniel fast to Dating Jezebel.  I knew I wanted this to be my first step in getting connected to the church and reaching some of the goals I had hoped for, but I was still scared.  I ended up joining the Chazown book study and I couldn't be happier.  The facilitator is truly an inspiring woman that is full of love and the other ladies in the group are just as amazing and full of life.

After getting over my fears and taking the plunge, I am now so happy I went through with it.  Not only am I learning new things about life and myself through this book study, but I've also been able to meet a few new women, become more involved in the church and most importantly - have the courage to put myself out there even more.  Heck, I even enrolled in my first skillshare class, The First Steps of Hand-Lettering: Concept to Sketch (Lettering I)  (PS: Click the link and get a $10 discount on the class, and I too will get a credit).

C. S. Lewis said, "Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny."  I know I'm well on my way to that extraordinary destiny and I encourage you to, "...hear the melody of your future, and have the faith to dance to it today," so you can start to live out your extraordinary destiny too!

RECIPE: Almond Joy Chia Overnight Oats

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

Why weren't overnight oats around when I was a kid??  Seriously, the breakfast game has jumped leaps and bounds from when I was a child.  I used to hate breakfast, and now days - I can't function without eating in the morning.

WHAT? ANOTHER BREAKFAST RECIPE??  I know, I know - a trend is happening here at 91D.  Other recipes are soon to follow, but lately - I've been on a breakfast kick, can you roll with it? I hope so!  I'm just loving the freshness of it all and could probably eat it for lunch and dinner too!

Its been over a year since I've seen countless overnight oat recipes, and I never tried it til now.  What a mistake that was!  Such an easy breakfast on the go and its packed full of whole grains, protein and a ton of nutrients you need to get a healthy start to the day.  The milk and/or yogurt softens the oats perfectly and its just the perfect make a head breakfast to take with you on the go!

Almond Joy Chia Overnight Oats
1/4 c rolled oats
1/3 c milk (I use Almond Milk)
1/4 c low fat coconut greek yogurt
2 tsp Chia seeds

Chocolate nibs or morsels
Sliced Almonds

Combine first four ingredients and let set overnight.  Top with toppings and mix in the morning.

Do you have a favorite on the go breakfast, or other toppings you like to include with your overnight oats?

xoxo, Aukele

Weekly Wishes // 005

Monday, February 17, 2014

1. Re-vamp my sponsorship program.  I have an idea of what I'd like to do - but not quite done on this one.  I'm going back and forth on a few ideas.  I'm hoping to solidify it this week.
2. Solidify my entrepreneurial plans and my online empire.  Total fail.  Will try again this week.
3. Water, water, water. I actually did pretty good with this one.  I got myself a Nalgene bottle at Target and have been squeezing half a lemon into the 32 oz bottle.  Some days I drink two bottles, other days one.  It is a start though, right?

THIS WEEK'S WISHES ARE:
1. Take care of online plans.  This encompasses the first two wishes from last week.
2. Budget my paycheck.  I'm all caught up with bills.  Gosh darn doesn't it feel so good to have nothing due (for a little bit anyway), or anything outstanding for that matter.  So I just want to budget myself so that I'm not tracking my pennies at the end of the month.
3. Catch up my Chazown book reading.  I didn't read anything last week, and we keep moving forward in the study, so I really need to buck down and get to reading and doing one of the exercises due on Tuesday.

Before we go, I wanted to share this video from Soul Pancake.  Man - talk about challenging yourself.  I'm not sure I'd be able to go through with what these people did.  So be encouraged to challenge yourself to take a risk :-)
Have an AMAZING week,
Aukele

Love Bits

Friday, February 14, 2014

First things first... Happy Valentine's Day!! I hope your day is full of love and joy!!  Secondly, I am so happy about how yesterday's blog post, The Brave Dame: If It's Not Okay, It's Not The End, was received.  I'm so glad it touched you ladies and made an impact!!  I'm not too sure how often The Brave Dame will make an appearance, but definitely more frequently that I originally planned, for sure!

Now onto this LOVE BUSINESS we got going on today... <3.  Is that how you do it?  I don't even know in today's world of emojis!

First off - why are there so many darn good quotes on love?? I have the lovely job of narrowing it down so that you aren't annoyed with a ton of quotes to scroll through, mind you, a long load time.  So what'd I decide to do?? Be smart, and create a flipagram of some of my favorite quotes!!  Lately we've been talking about loving yourself and self-worth - so here are some of my favorite self-love/worth quotes.

Next up on this lovely occassion, we have a pretty bomb love playlist for you, compliments of Playlistme on Spotify.  The first song, Old School Love, is my jam!  So I was sold right off the bat.  There is some sappyness going on in there, but not too much!! Enjoy :-)

A few years ago I shared a Valentine Skinny Brownie (for 1) and it is my most popular blog post to date (on my former site, Instant Mommie). After the brownie was done, I literally got a piece of paper and cut out a heart, then slapped it on the brownie and dusted powdered sugar over to get that white heart in the middle!  It's a simple and easy way to put a little L.O.V.E into any homemade dessert you may be whipping up tonight!

And that's all she wrote folks!! Hope you enjoyed these lil love bits for today.  Have an amazing weekend.  Remember that YOU are SO WORTH LOVING!!

The Brave Dame: If It's Not Okay, It's Not The End

Thursday, February 13, 2014

When a woman finds herself at (what she thinks) is her lowest of lows and then starts to climb back up - that is one of the most empowering things in the world.  To take baby steps, or maybe leaps in brushing off the dust - looking at yourself in the mirror and realizing you're worth and value, you can't help but want to climb the highest peak and shout it to the world.  This is the part where Katy Perry's Roar starts playing in the background, because that was 100% my anthem when I took those steps in going, "...from zero, to my own hero."

After publishing my post, ON BEING SINGLE - So Worth Loving, I knew I had more to share on this topic.  But this isn't just for the single girls.  This is for every girl - in a relationship or not.  We are all so worth loving.  So today, I'm starting up a new series called The Brave Dame - and this is all about being brave, confident, dauntless and courageous women.

This past month I've been attending a weekly book study, where we've been going over the book, Chazown: Define Your Vision. Pursue Your Passion. Live Your Life on Purpose. .  This last week we talked about past experiences and how when you are lined up with God, "...every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good." - Romans 8:28 (MSG).

Please trust that I am walking out my faith in God every day, and it isn't easy.  I've already made mistakes, and will definitely make more - however, this verse gives me hope and joy because this is His promise to me.  Whatever we go through in life, whether good or bad - it will work out into something good in the end. As that one saying goes, "if it's not okay, it's not the end."

One of the ladies in the book study group shared about how, if it wasn't for her having a rare retina disease, she wouldn't have met the woman at the retina center who ended up inviting her to church, subsequently giving her life to God and now living the life she is living now.  That is one of her testimonies where something was meant for bad, and was turned into good (or had a positive outcome).

Today, I wanted to encourage you to continue to run your race and keep your head in the game when life throws you a curve ball - or just body slams you to the ground.  Whatever may come your way in life, you are STRONG enough, TOUGH enough, BRAVE enough to endure it and come out stronger, tougher and braver in the end.

Whenever I go through troubling situations there are a few things I like to do while waiting for time to pass (ie: my past breakup), or waiting for the courage to take a few steps in the right direction:
  1. Find a song that relates to my pain and situation.
  2. Find a song that encourages me to be stronger than the pain or situation (Enter "Roar" - Katy Perry, or even, "Best Thing I Never Had," - Beyonce).
  3. Scour Facebook and Pinterest for encouraging quotes that relate to my situation.
These things are in addition to praying and finding scriptures that apply to my situation as well.

Lastly, I wanted to leave you with this quote from C.S. Lewis.  It is simple, yet to the point.  Sometimes we are so overwhelmed with life, let alone the curve balls we are thrown, that we forget that in order to get from point A to point B - we just need to take step!

My Favorite Karaoke Songs

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

With one of my ride or dies, Missy, on one of many Monday night Karaoke sessions circa 2006.

Hands down, karaoke is one of my most favorite things to do.  I love love love to sing.

It's funny though.  I used to sing on stage in front of thousands of people for, give or take, 6 years - yet I'm too nervous to sing karaoke in public.  Isn't that weird.  I'm too afraid to go off-key, or not hit a rift the way it should be done, or harmonize off pitch.  However, this doesn't keep me from singing - by far!
With my best friend from school, Ashley, circa 2006.

I love renting a room at my favorite karaoke spot, HMC Karaoke, with a bunch of friends, whipping up a bunch of pupus (appetizers) (or just getting the mother-load of fresh sashime and ahi poke) and drinks and having a good night of karaoke.
Richard showing us how it's done, singing Beat It.
During summer and winter breaks, this was a weekly occurrence with my girlfriends; now we do it, maybe, a couple of times a year.  Now that we don't do it as often, I tend to forget all of my favorite karaoke songs.  So today, I figured I'd take time to create a playlist so that I'm ready to go at the next karaoke event.  Enjoy the playlist - and the links below will take you to the lyrics so you can sing alongside your favorite songs as well!!

1) Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen | 2) Santeria - Sublime | 3) Sweet Caroline - Neil Diamond | 4) I Love Rock & Roll - Joan Jett | 5) Ironic - Alanis Morissette 4) Piano Man - Billy Joel | 5) Whip Appeal - Babyface | 6) Hotel California - Eagles | 7) Take A Bow - Rhianna | 8) Leather & Lace - Stevie Nicks and Don Henley | 9) Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison | 10) September - Earth, Wind & Fire | 11) Life is a Highway - Rascal Flatts | 12) Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen | 13) Sunday Morning - Maroon 5 | 14) Southern Hospitality - Ludacris | 15) No More Drama - Mary J. Blige | 16) Treasure - Bruno Mars | 17) Cruisin' - Huey Lewis & Gwyneth Paltrow | 18) Gangsta's Paradise - Coolio | 19) No Diggity - Blackstreet | 20) Nobody - Keith Sweat | 21) Don't Let Me Get Me - Pink | 22) Roar - Katy Perry | 23) Kiss From a Rose - Seal

Tell me some of your favorite karaoke songs!  Check out other playlist posts, here!

Currently Loving // 002

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Hey my dashing superstars!  I'm back with another edition of what I'm currently loving.  This is a fun way to talk about things that have made me laugh, inspired and encouraged me, helped me and made me smile over the past few weeks, and a way for me to introduce (hopefully) new things to you so that you can enjoy them too!!  If you have a blog, send me a link to what you're currently loving so we can all be in the KNOW!
I love this post on 25 Signs You're Addicted to Diet Coke.  This is probably me to a T, except with Coke Zero! I'm a total hoarder of Coke Zero bottles and could be drinking out of three at any given point.

How adorable are these Valentine tags, from Eighteen 25?  These are perfect for anytime of year to show that special guy in your life that you are thinking about them, and that you appreciate them.

I'm one of those people that stay in bed until the very last second.  This article comes in quite handy in the mornings when I'm rushing out the door! Check it out here.

I'm loving this cute store on envy, Weekend Society.  There are definitely a few shirts I'd like to pick up from here.  I'm always looking for small businesses to support, since I have one of my own :-). And lastly...

Have you guys seen those lame FB videos... This is way better :-)  Enjoy!!

Check out MORE Currently Loving posts, here.

Weekly Wishes // 004

Monday, February 10, 2014

Aloha Kakahiaka! Today I'm back with my fourth installment of Weekly Wishes link up (2014) hosted by Melyssa from The Nectar Collective.

1. Try new, healthy on-the-go type recipes this week. Nailed it.  If you follow me on instagram, you'll have seen all the different, yummy concoctions I whipped up.
2. No soda. This one was hard.  I did drink soda, though, not nearly as much as I usually do.  It definitely helped not to have cash on me at work so that I couldn't use the soda machine, lol.
3. Hit the treadmill 3 times this week. While I didn't use the treadmill I did walk a bunch of hills with my dog this week, so I'll take that as a "done and done".

THIS WEEK'S WISHES ARE:
1. Re-vamp my sponsorship program.  In my current program, though, I love it - I feel as though it takes up a lot of time.  I want to re-do it and streamline it to be more efficient while still being beneficial to those that are paying me their hard earned cash to have their ad on my website.
2. Solidify my entrepreneurial plans and my online empire.  I've been putting this off for long enough, and really need to have some concrete goals, and a PLAN, on how and WHEN all of this will get done - son.
3. Water, water, water. Pretty self explanatory here, right?

Before we go, I just wanted to encourage you with this...

Have an AMAZING week,
Aukele

2014 JOY GOALS

Sunday, February 9, 2014

Wow!  Some times I still have to take a step back and think, geez - what was I thinking these last few years.  I guess the twenties are truly meant for finding yourself. JOY GOALS?  Really, Aukele?  Yes!  If you need some background information on JOY, go ahead and read this post, Focusing on Joy.  It pretty much sets the tone for me, for 2014.

So how does one create JOY goals??  I was stumped, as well, for a little bit.  Then it dawned on me - that it needs to be appropriated from the source.  I don't know what your source of pure, true JOY is; but mine is Jesus.  I guess in a sense these JOY goals are truly spiritual goals that I'm setting for myself - but at the end of it all, the benefit is to live a life full of JOY.  So we'll stick with JOY goals, shall we?

2014 JOY GOALS:
  1. Trust in the Lord - Sometimes I still do not cast all my cares on Him; and I still hold back in letting everything go.  Trusting in the Lord with EVERYTHING is definitely a work in progress.  I know, though, that once I do - I will have peace and JOY in knowing that He is taking care of everything as long as I trust in Him, and follow His Word.
  2. Build my relationship with God - I need to seek Him more.  I need to talk to Him and listen to Him more.  I need to dedicate more time to praise Him and worship Him.
  3. Get connected in my Church
  4. Actively involve God in all my decisions.  This one kind of coincides with #1 and #2, but I just wanted to highlight it, because it is something that I truly want to work on this year.
Do you have any spiritual goals this year?  If so, I'd love to hear about them in the comments below!

xoxo, Aukele

5 Ways To Enjoy Your Me Time

Thursday, February 6, 2014

Growing up as an only child, I learned early on to be independent.  I learned to be comfortable doing things on my own, and spending time with myself.  As I got older, I craved that ME time more and more.  When I left Hawaii to go to college in Oregon I had a ton of ME time on my hands and it was quite hard to transition back to living with family when I came back home.

While I absolutely adore spending time with my family and friends; I absolutely, 100% LOVE my time to myself and need to do something independently at least a few times a week.  After taking some time for myself I feel rejuvenated as if the reset button were pressed; I feel focused and productive; I feel like I've learned new things about myself and developed more of who I am; I feel like I've had time to get lost in my thoughts and had time to think about different aspects of my life; I feel like I've had time to process situations in life and plan out a way to work through them; and most importantly, after taking care of me, I feel better when spending time with others.

Here are some of my favorite ways to enjoy my ME time, and take myself on a date.

1. Target - I mean, seriously guys, every girl takes herself to Target.  I love getting lost in that store, and walking every single aisle.  If I'm in the rush I'll usually do the main aisle around the store and then go to a specific area if I need to.  Favorite aisles include: women's clearance, small gifts in the party section (can't I buy those for myself), and kitchen wares (oh, a case of the food blogger flu).

2. Starbucks - I could literally be here for hours at a time.  Perfect place to plan out life, write blog posts, work on your online business, read a book, people watch - the list goes on!

3. Spa - Pretty self explanatory, right?  It is always nice to take some me time to get pampered and get lost in your thoughts (or in a magazine).  Pedicures, facials, waxing, massages.  It's just nice to have someone do something for you, for a change!

4. Drive - Granted I have some pretty scenic views living in Hawaii, but I love to just take a drive and get lost in the music.  It's a sure-fire way for me to clear my head and press that reset button.  I'm one of those people who gets bummed out if I have to take someone somewhere when I was looking forward to one of those head clearing sessions.  It's like when you have a craving and can't eat what you want.  You don't stop thinking about it until you get it.

5. Farmer's Market - Much like Target, I love to just walk around a Farmer's Market and find all types of different goodies you don't usually find at a supermarket.  I love scoring deals and trying new foods to tell everyone about.  I'm definitely one of those people that like to shop on my own so that I can take my time and not feel like I have to rush for someone else.

How often do you take your ME time?  What things do you like to do?
xoxo, Aukele

RECIPE: Blueberry Banana Breakfast Smoothie

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Blueberries and bananas are such a dynamite pair!  Blueberries are full of antioxidants and fiber; while bananas help prevent muscle cramps and aid in digestion. A ton of healthy benefits plus good flavor?  Where do I sign up.

I love the blueberry and banana combination.  This isn't the first recipe I've shared with this dynamic duo.  Check out my Blueberry and Banana Baked Oatmeal from my previous blog, Instant Mommie.

Lately I've been a little complacent with the smoothies I make for breakfast.  While I do enjoy them and can't get enough of them or the taste in my mouth, my IG can get boring with green all over the place.  So in a vain IG effort, I whipped up this bad boy so that I can stop being the green monster, and be a Barney.  Did you get that?? Lame joke, I know.

The base of this smoothie is straight up simple.  Add in some chia or flax seeds for a boost, and even a scoop of protein powder if you want to beef it up a little bit.  Top with granola for crunchy, divine yumminess!

Blueberry Banana Breakfast Smoothie:
1 handful of frozen blueberries
1 banana (frozen or unfrozen)
Agave or Honey
Water
Optionals:
Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, Bee Pollen, Protein Powder, Granola
Put fruit in blender/blender cup.  Add in enough water so that the fruit doesn't get stuck while mixing (you'll figure out how much once you make enough of these - you can always adjust!).  Squeeze in a little honey or agave. Add in optional flax seed or protein powder.  BLEND BLEND BLEND. Top with chia seeds and/or granola.

Weekly Wishes // 003

Monday, February 3, 2014

Aloha Kakahiaka! Today I'm back with my third installment of Weekly Wishes link up (2014) hosted by Melyssa from The Nectar Collective.

1. Clear out storage space in closets to store wanted/needed items that cause clutter.  I didn't get to this, however, I was able to clear out and throw away items both in my closet and my desk.  Who knew I kept my EMPTY xbox 360 box as well as my sewing machine box in my closet?? Hoarder much!? Haha.
2. Dominate the cardio circuit. While I got started on this one a little late, I was able to complete two circuits non-stop.  Hey! At least I didn't bomb it like the week prior! :)  PS: Shout outs to my girls Kayli and Z who

THIS WEEK'S WISHES ARE:
1. Try new, healthy on-the-go type recipes this week.  I don't even know what that means right now, but I do know that life right now is kind of on-the-go; and it is no excuse for fast food.  I've been stuck in a rut for two months and its time I break that plateau.
2. No soda. Just writing out that I've been on a plateau, just made me realize I really need to change things up, so I just decided right now, that I am going on a week long soda fast.  This should be interesting.
3. Hit the treadmill 3 times this week.  At work I have a treadmill that I can use after work, and I need to start taking advantage of that, especially after one of my friends suggested I do that.

If you participate in Weekly Wishes I really want to encourage you to find people that have similar goals like you for a week and encourage them throughout the week to meet those weekly wishes.  It was really fun to check in on Kayli and Z once or twice last week, and be able to have that accountability with fellow bloggers.

xoxo, Aukele
