Week 26 Bumpdate

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Size of the Baby: Eggplant (9.2 inches, 2 pounds) (according to the What to Expect app)

Total Weight Gain: 16 pounds. I knew it was coming, good Lord! Gained 4 pounds in two weeks. It happens. Lets just leave it at that.

Gender: Girl (click here)

Nickname: "CHALUPIE"

Sleep: No complaints.  It's hard to roll over.  I'm sure my pillow top doesn't help me out at all, but sometimes I either have to sit up to rotate sides, or grab the side of the bed so I can pull myself over.  It's quite hilarious, lol.  And my hips fall asleep from the weight, goodness gracious.  That's pretty comical.  Every now and then I get a charlie horse and so I just stand up and stretch it out for 10-20 seconds, then I'm good.  Some days I get up to pee, others I get a full night's sleep.

Craving: Still eating the Ding Dongs, though I'm not as crazed about it.  I just need to make sure I have some type of chocolate with me in the afternoons.  I've been enjoying my Wednesday morning bagel habit.  I'm trying all the flavors at the shop and am loving it.

Missing: Poke, what's new?

Symptoms: So those round ligament pains finally kicked in.  It takes a while to get up.  The longer I sit or lay down, the longer it is to walk like a normal human being.

Looking Forward To: Passing my glucose test, because that is exactly what will happen on Saturday.  *Fingers crossed.

Best Moments: Last Saturday I had a mini surprise baby shower with my family.  My cousin's girlfriend organized everything because a bunch of family from Hilo had come in for another event.  It was a ton of fun, and I have an entire post dedicated to it that I meant to post yesterday, but hopefully by week's end it'll be up!

A Few Things

Friday, April 17, 2015

Welp.  It's been a minute, no?  Literally the time is flying by and I wish it would just slow down for a second, but I don't think that's happening any time soon.  I'm really thinking it'll happen when baby her debut, but I'm sure my maternity will go up in smoke before I know it.  So anyway - here are a few thoughts I've jotted down over the last two weeks and some fun links I'd like to share with you.  PS: Isn't that a pretty picture.  I took it on Sunday while we were at Kailua Beach just a little bit before sunset.  I kinda love it.

++Bagels are the ish right now.  Every Wednesday I've been going to Lox of Bagels in town before work to pick up some bagels for breakfast and they've been so delish.  Toasty and soft.  This week I got the cinnamon raisin with honey cream cheese and sun dried tomato with cucumber and dill cream cheese.  The latter will be saved for another day, maybe Saturday. Or maybe  I ate it the same day I picked it up?  Yah, totally did (see, this was supposed to be up on Wednesday). #fail

++Fast and Furious 7 is a must see.  We saw it opening weekend, and I mean, if for nothing at least go and watch Paul Walker's final movie.  They sent him off in the most endearing way.  A girl a few seats down for me was a little obnoxious with her crying which was a little weird.

++Ding Dongs are my jam.  Don't mess with it!  Haha.  NO, but for real.  I keep them to myself.  I don't share.  It's my one pregnancy thing so just leave it be!  I ran out yesterday, and this morning I literally had the last box on the shelf from Long's in my hand!  #win

++Last week and this week is insanely busy at work.  Project after project, report after report.  What I'm really dreading is teaching people how to keep the department running while I'm on maternity leave, yay!

++I've been missing Zumba lately and been blasting my Zumba playlist when I'm in the car alone.  It's a one man dance concert.

++Family is here this week.  So excited!  Love my cousins, we always have a blast and we talk.. ALOT.  We talk alot of game and get VERY competitive once the cards (Cribbage, Trumps) come out or we're doing a board game with teams (Taboo, Cranium).  Been teaching them how to play Bones the last couple of times they were here, so maybe we'll get in a few rounds of that too.

++It's Spring and I want deviled eggs!  These look amazeballs.

++I have two of these mugs from Target, and I think I'm going to have some fun with nailpolish this weekend to DIY it up a notch!  Well maybe I'll go pick up a few more too??!

Week 24 Bumpdate

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

No bump picture!  We completely slacked on taking any bump pictures this week and when I went to do it this morning in my bathroom... well let's just say selfie bumps are not the business for me.  I'm not that cool! Buttttttt since I'm going to be a mom soon, and today is my mom's birthday I'm sharing a picture of what I gave her.  Just a little quote that I wrote out and framed for her.  My mom is the queen of finding things so I thought that this fun little quote was fitting for her!  Happy Birthday Grams!!! Hahaha.

Size of the Baby: Ear of Corn (8.5 inches, 1.5 pound) (according to the What to Expect app)

Total Weight Gain: 11 pounds.

Gender: Girl (click here)

Nickname: "CHALUPIE"  You can click on the last bumpdate for the story.

Sleep: Has been pretty good.  Still rolling from side to side.  It's definitely more uncomfortable sleeping on my back, which sucks because that's how I like to sleep - but hopefully I'll have my new bed soon.

Craving: DING DONGS!!!  I noticed that I've been really enjoying foods that I loved as a kid.  And I had some ding dongs a couple weeks ago and just haven't been able to get my fill of them.  I finally bought myself a box last Wednesday - and it's time for a new one!

Missing: Just raw fish, like always.  Sometimes I just have to go have a sample at the poke counter.  I can't help myself.  I will definitely be having a poke bowl while I'm still in the hospital after I pop this little one out.

Symptoms: Back pain. BOO!  Charlie horses, or leg cramps.  They've been creeping in a lot more lately.  When I bend over to put on socks or pants, there is a pain I don't know how to explain.  Something is hitting something that it shouldn't be hitting - so that's fun too! Lol.  When the Ovia app tells you your uterus is the size of a soccer ball now, that kind of makes sense!

Looking Forward To: Getting through this month because at the end of it I'll be in my third trimester!!  Then I'll be having doctors appointments every two weeks, instead of every four.  I'm not looking forward to the darned glucose test though.  I hope I pass the first time around and don't have to do the three hour test later!  Wish me luck - it's on the 25th.

Best Moments: Nothing too exciting has gone on, but I had a good appointment at 23 weeks.  Doctor hasn't brought up my weight - which is one thing I was definitely worried about when I found out I was pregnant.  Being "obese" I didn't want to completely blow up to a balloon.
